Home office organizing presents its own unique challenges. Papers, bills, computer files, and paper files all need to be organized appropriately. With so much stuff and often a small space to work with, how can you get it organized?

One method you can try is to break your organizing up into chunks of time. Take your schedule at the beginning of the week and decide how much time you are willing to devote to organizing your home office each day. Then schedule that time into your calendar just like any other appointment. You may need to get creative in finding time. If you can only schedule 15 minutes each day, that is fine. Just be sure that you actually do schedule those 15 minutes each day and that you really do devote that time to organizing.

A different method is to tackle it all at once. If you are going to take this route, be sure to schedule enough time for this task. If you have papers all over your desk and stacks of them on the floor, chances are that you are not going to get through everything in an hour. Realistically look at what you have to organize and be sure to block out that time in your schedule. Be sure that it is time where you have no interruptions and when you are in a state of mind to be able to handle the task. Trying to schedule organizing your home office after a long day of work is not likely to work well. Scheduling it for a Saturday morning will likely work better and you will also likely be more efficient in your organizing.
